View to the Night
Pit fired ceramic, pine needles, artificial sinew, devil’s claw, hand dyed wool yarn, turquiose, fire agate and wood beads.

View to the Night is the first wall sculpture that I have created. It was created specifically for the collectors who wanted a basket sculpture but were afraid of what their cats might do to one! This was a perfect alternative for them. The ceramic portion had such a celestial feeling about it and the basketry portion took on the motion of swirling galaxy gases. The incorporation of drift wood and other earthly elements completed the feeling of looking into the night from the desert floor.
