While Searching for Zen
Pit fired ceramics, pine needles, artificial senew, glass and stone beads, found objects and devil’s claw
Approx. size 17″ wide x 14″ high
The creation of this particular sculpture was my personal touch stone while I helped someone dear to me through a difficult time in their life. It held so much emotion for me that it was almost a year before I could let go of the events and see the true beauty it held for me. In the end it symbolized the perfect imperfection of life and the absolute beauty of that imperfection. We grow beautiful inside because of the journey we have traveled. It is the difficult times that make us who we are, and if we are lucky, we recognize the good times as the celebration of what we have learned during the hard times.
Part of Suzanne Schmaltz’s personal collection
